SHAUGHNESSY & AHERN

Overcoming challenge......A little history

"While Shaughnessy is unrivaled in the diversity of it's divisions, each division is distinguished by years of technical achievement. That's why the industry has depended on Shaughnessy sine 1916"

John J Shaughnessy (1876-1938), founder of Shaughnessy & Ahern

1936 - Rigging a 20 ton granite ball for the city of Quincy - without the benefit of modern cranes.

1955 - Two 12 ton Pettibone cranes rigging a 12 ton Chiller into the Statler Building in Boston. Shaughnessy introduced hydraulic cranes to New England in 1956.
