Keeping industry moving

The Shaughnessy Companies

"The Northeast's unpredictable weather and deteriorating roadways present an enormous challenge to the heavy hauler. That's why we're so proud that our drivers have about the best record in the industry. We've overcome these obstacles successfully for over three-quarters of a century - an achievement we work to maintain with every haul."

Shaughnessy's comprehensive fleet travels the arteries of the entire country to transport loads that are oversize, overweight or requiring special attention.

Shaughnessy trucks can haul massive yet often delicate equipment weighing up to 500 tons. Recent hauls have included:

  • moving huge electrical transformers for Boston Edison
  • carrying a 200 ton locomotive engine
  • delivering components for a nuclear power plant

Shaughnessy's heavy hauling division is respected nationally because of its ability to gain the cooperation of highway departments, police escorts, telephone companies and utilities.

Success in delivering demanding jobs has earned Shaughnessy its solid reputation for getting things done in spite of the obstacles.
